The Garden State Crop Insurance Education Initiative is a statewide program run by Rutgers University, New Jersey Department of Agriculture, and USDA’s Risk Management Agency.
We are an educational program only, and our goal is to ensure that the producers of New Jersey are aware of the risk management tools available to them through the federal crop insurance program, as well as keeping important dates advertised. We provide educational materials and maintain a list of crop insurance agents licensed to sell crop insurance in New Jersey. We also travel the state: giving talks at producer meetings, exhibiting our materials, and conducting one-on-one discussions with farmers.
