Soybean growers be advised that the earliest planting date for soybeans is April 15th, if you should decide to plant before this date or after the final planting date of June 20 for Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset, and Warren counties or July 5 for Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, and Salem counties you may also not be eligible for replanting payments should you suffer a loss. As with the corn policy, you have 25 days after the final deadline to get your soybeans planted but each day you loose 1% of coverage. If you plant after the final deadline it is imperative to be diligent in reporting on what dates you planted which fields.
It is extremely important that if you suffer a loss and become eligible for replant or prevented planting payments that you give notice to your crop insurance agent immediately of the loss and leave evidence of this loss in the field until a crop insurance adjuster has had a chance to inspect it.
If you already have an existing grain policy for the 2011 crop year, actual production history reports are due April 29th.
